Soyinka backtracks on U.S visit, returns to deliver lecturesBy Newsdesk
The Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, has concluded plans to return United State of America (USA), barely one year after he tore his American Green Card after President Donald Trump defeated Hilary Clinton at the polls.
On his return to the country, Soyinka would be addressing guest at the Richard D. Cohen Lectures at Harvard University Centre for African Studies between November 14th and 16th.
Soyinka, who disclosed his visit plan to the country yesterday in an interview with newsmen, said that he would be visiting the country as an alien and not as a citizen.
The Nobel Laureate said: “I’ll go in as an alien, an alien from outer space. I love that designation.”
